The spring acts as a shock absorber during needle penetration and raises the insert above the bottom of the vial, allowing greater sample recovery.Mandrel inserts also have a tapered bottom but the tips have been precision formed over a mandrel to give the internal tip a “V” shape that reduces the residual volume of the insert.
Vial inserts provide a cushion against needle contact. Precision point inserts permit maximum sample extraction. Typical volume of glass conical limited volume Insert ranges from 50-500µL. They consist of precision-formed mandrel interior, w/Bottom Spring and are silanized.
Inserts are available preassembled with a polymer bottom spring or patented Top Spring™. The polymer spring acts as a shock absorber that protects against breakage if the needle bottoms out. The conical design permits complete sample removal. Limited volume inserts are available silanized or precleaned. Glass Conical Inserts Spec Sheet

extraction. Inserts without the bottom springs automatically centers in the vial and provides a perfect seal with the septa. The pulled point internal design permits sufficient sample withdrawal and allows chemists the ability to analyze smaller sample volumes in standard size vials.
Vials. Vials are available in a variety of styles. Find autosampler vials, vial caps and closures, and vial inserts for chromatography with snap, screw, or crimp-top closures, with and without septa. Autosampler vials come in convenient pre-packaged sets.
Vial bottoms and caps. The handling of the processed samples also belongs to the sample preparation. For this purpose, the samples are transferred into suitable sample vials with closure, from which the sample is directly applied and subsequently injected for analysis.
Inserts for vials. Micro-inserts are used to reduce the volume of standard sample vials for application with very small sample volumes. The benefit of using inserts is less surface area; therefore it is easier to withdraw the sample. Inserts are placed into a regular vial; vials are closed as usual.
Flat Bottom,Conical Base and Conical insert with a top spring Several styles are offered including flat bottom, concial inserts with a top spring or a bottom spring, and concial without springs.
