Although most laboratories have switched to 9 mm screw thread vials for a wider opening while still being autosampler compatible, some labs use 8-425 vials for storing solvents. The standard opening 8-425 vials have more threads per inch, so there is less likelihood that volatile solvents will evaporate over time.
The 9-425 Hplc Screw Vial is available in a variety of sizes to suit many needs. Standard sizes include 12x32mm (2mL), 15x45mm (4mL) and 8x40mm (1mL). The user can also choose a vial with a normal (4 mm) opening or a wide (6 mm) opening, depending on the type of cap to select.
